Air India will be in private hands by May-June: Puri

The privatization process of Air India is expected to be completed by May-June. Many bidders have shown interest in buying Air India and some of them have also been shortlisted. Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said this on Saturday.

The Union Minister said that in a meeting it has been decided that the financial bid for Air India will be completed in 64 days. Air
India still has a debt of 60 thousand crore rupees. Puri said that Pawan Hans’ disinvestment process is also moving forward. In this direction, progress will be seen soon.

On-air services during the Corona period, he said that 100 percent of the operations were not being conducted due to the second wave of infection. From the end of March, all the aviation services were ready to be restored. However, now the situation has become difficult again. He said that the aircraft is the safest option for travel. Those who violate the Covid-19 protocol are being monitored during the visit.
