Air India will upgrade 67 aircraft by spending Rs 3,360 crore

Air India is going to upgrade its 67 old aircrafts. Rs 3,360 crore will be spent on this. First of all, 27 Airbus A320 Neo aircrafts will be upgraded. After this, 40 Boeing wide-body aircrafts will be upgraded. Through this, additional facilities will be added in business class, premium economy and economy class.

The renovation program includes modern cabin layout, updated seats and better facilities during the flight. The first upgraded narrowbody aircraft is expected to enter service by December this year. The Upgradation 2 program began on Monday with the first narrowbody VT-Q EXN A320 Neo aircraft being sent to the hangar. After this, three to four aircraft will be retrofitted every month. All narrowbody aircraft are expected to be upgraded by mid-2025. The company issued a statement saying that more than 15 thousand new generation seats will be installed in premium economy, business and economy classes in the flight.
