- ASI arrested taking bribe of Rs 10,000 in accident case
Barnala Vigilance Bureau has caught Assistant Sub Inspector ASI Bhola Singh posted at Police Station Sadar Barnala red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. Inspector Gurmel Singh of the Vigilance Bureau said that ASI Bhola Singh has been arrested on the basis of a complaint by Jagtar Singh, resident of district Barnala. The complainant told that a few days ago his car collided with Lakhha Singh's tractor-trolley in village Farwahi near City Barnala. He approached Police Station Sadar Barnala for legal action in this matter.
Jagtar Singh alleged that the said ASI Bhola Singh had demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from him in lieu of taking action in this case. After this, the complainant approached the Vigilance. Acting on this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau Patiala Range unit laid a trap and arrested ASI Bhola Singh today while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 in the presence of government witnesses.
