Barnala civil surgeon suspended on corruption charges
The Punjab government has suspended Barnala Civil Surgeon Dr. Harinder Sharma on charges of corruption. Now in his place, District Health Officer Jaspreet Singh has been given additional charge with immediate effect. According to the information, an old case was under investigation, under which this action has been taken against him.
Dr. Sharma's assistant Ashwani Kumar was accused of taking bribe. Later the officials investigated the matter. Civil surgeon Dr. Sharma was also found guilty in the investigation. According to sources in the health department, the doctor posted on duty in Tapa was asked to pay money in exchange for giving leave. After this, this complaint was made and action has been taken on the basis of the complaint. During the action, civil surgeon Barnala was also found guilty. After this, the officials also suspended Dr. Sharma due to corruption.
