The CBI team reached the house of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday. The CBI team which arrived for action in the coal smuggling case has given notice of inquiry to Abhishek’s wife Rujira and sister-in-law Maneka Gambhir. This action provoked TMC. The party said that the BJP’s ‘only ally’ at the Center is now the CBI. The CBI has been investigating this matter related to coal theft and smuggling since November. At that time, the investigating agency had registered a case against the smuggling gang master Manjhi alias Lal and officers of Eastern Coalfields Limited. In December, the CBI raided the residence of businessmen Amit and Neeraj Singh, along with TMC leader Vinay Mishra. They are accused of black marketing of coal worth thousands of crores of rupees.
After CBI action, Mamata Banerjee said in a program, ‘Don’t try to scare us from jail. We have fought against guns. Not afraid of mice. As long as there is life, we are not afraid. He said, ‘There will be a match in 2021. I’ll be the goalkeeper. Let’s see who wins. We did not learn to lose. ‘ At the same time, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘We are not afraid of such tactics.
