Common people heaved a sigh of relief due to curb on crime
In the name of Lady Singham in Jharkhand Police Inspector Mamta Kumari is famous. This Inspector of 2012 batch is currently posted in Giridih district. The name may be affectionate, but it is very strict for criminals. Sometimes as a laborer and sometimes as someone else, she has always been at the forefront in putting criminals behind the bars. A few years ago, while living in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, he had dramatically caught a person demanding extortion of Rs 20 lakh. The case was of another police station, but the then SP Indrajit Mahtha entrusted him with the responsibility of solving this case. He posed as a laborer and asked for financial help over the phone from the extortionist. Thinking her helpless, he came to meet her and was caught. He had destroyed the drug network during his stay at Sukhdevnagar police station in Ranchi. In this, he had caught a woman in a dramatic manner, who was the leader of the brown sugar and drugs business. In this entire network, he had caught about a dozen people and sent them to the bars. It was also revealed that brown sugar used to reach Ranchi from Sasaram in Bihar and some cities of Odisha, which was supplied to brown sugar traders from Ranchi to Delhi. In this business Ranchi, Dhanbad and Smugglers from Bokaro and Palamu were also involved. During her stay in Palamu, Inspector Mamta Kumari, acting boldly on secret information, had caught three criminals with weapons.
While being the Sadar police station in Palamu, Mamta Kumari had safely recovered a minor girl from Kutmu, the Naxalite area on the border of Latehar and Palamu, at around 2 o'clock in the night and had taken her to her home. Actually, the minor girl was originally a resident of Mahuadand in Latehar and studied in a reputed private school in Palamu. She also lived there on rent. One day at around four in the evening, she left saying she was going for tuition, but did not reach home. After this, the search for her started and late at night a call came to Carl's relatives from the heavily Naxal-affected Kutmu village that the girl was safe with them. Inspector Mamta decided to go to the village where people were afraid to go in the evening and recovered the girl safely. While posted in Ranchi, information was received that narcotics were being supplied in the city, whose warehouse was in Radha Nagar. Mamta reached the spot, conducted a raid and seized a huge quantity of drugs from that warehouse. She had issued a message that she would not allow the drug trade to flourish in her area. The effect of this was that the people of the area heaved a sigh of relief.
