Correct steps to increase the interval between two doses of Covishield

Dr. Anthony Fassi, the Chief Medical Advisor of the White House, has said that India can solve the crisis arising out of Corona only by conducting a rapid vaccination campaign. Along with this, he also termed the step taken in the right direction to increase the interval between two doses of the Kovishield vaccine. Dr. Fasi also said that India should increase the production of vaccines in collaboration with other countries and companies so that it can vaccinate a large population of the country.

In an exclusive interview, Fasi said that India is facing a very difficult situation at this time. In such a situation, you should try how to get more people vaccinated.

So I think it is a logical approach. On Thursday, the Government of India approved increasing the difference between two doses of Kovishield from six to eight weeks to 12 to 16 weeks. This is the second time within three months that the time interval between two doses of Covishield has been extended.

Describing India as one of the best vaccine producers in the world, Fasi said that it is a very big country. It has a population of about 1.4 billion. It has so far fully immunized only a few percent of the people. In addition, about 10 percent of the people have received a vaccine dose. In such a situation, you should manage the vaccine in collaboration with other countries and companies. At the same time, we should also increase our production capacity.
