Delhi High Court stay on single bench verdict on Future-Reliance deal

The legal battle between Future Retail and Amazon has taken another turn. The Delhi High Court’s double bench has postponed the single bench’s March 18 ruling that upheld the interim order of the Singapore arbitration court restraining Future Retail Group from going ahead with the Rs 25,000-crore deal with Reliance Retail went.

The single bench also imposed a fine of Rs 20 lakh on 8 promoters and other office bearers of Future Group. The Future Group challenged the single bench decision in the Division Bench of the Chief Justice. Hearing this, the Division Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh adjourned the decision of a single bench.
