Export decreased again, trade deficit $ 1,288 million

After registering growth for two consecutive months, the country’s exports once again declined. Exports declined marginally by 0.25 percent to $ 2,767 crore in February. At the same time, imports increased by 6.98 percent to $ 4,055 million. This information has been given in the preliminary data released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Commerce. Accordingly, the trade deficit in February reached a level of $ 1,288 million. It was $ 1016 million in February last year. The country’s total exports during the first 11 months of the current financial year, April-February, declined by 12.32 percent to $ 25,592 million. In the same period last fiscal, exports were $ 29,187 million. Imports also declined by 23 percent to $ 34,088 million during the 11 months from April to February of the current financial year.
