Farmers organization says people engaged in movement will not appear before NIA

The summons issued by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe the funding of pro-Khalistan organizations in the peasant movement has seen a growing confrontation between the peasant groups and the government. On Sunday, the 53rd day of the agitation, peasant organizations announced that no leader or activist associated with them would appear before the NIA. Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that the government was using the NIA to discredit the movement. The 11th round of talks is to be held between the farmers and the Centre on Tuesday, but before this, the movement has been declared by the BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait till May-2024. At the same time, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also reiterated the old stand saying, “Hopefully farmers will discuss every law clause wise. If the farmers talk about the three agricultural laws point-by-point and express their objection, the government will consider it.
Farmer’s organizations would march on Outer Ring Road. Farmer’s organizations said that on Republic Day, the tractors will be taken out on Outer Ring Road in March Delhi. It will be peaceful. All tractors must have a Tricolour because Farmers will also celebrate Republic Day.
First time in the United Front meeting, there has been a split among the farmers. In the meeting of the Morcha held on Sunday, Haryana Bhamiu’s President Gurnam Chadhuni faced several allegations. It was said that movement is making the base of politics. Not only are they taking money from political parties, but in the name of demolishing the Haryana government, they are also dealing with the Congress ticket in the future. Congress leaders are called in tents. In Delhi, he meets leaders of different parties. This is eroding the image of the movement. He was also accused of taking around Rs 10 crore from a Congress leader from Haryana in the name of agitation. He also organized a program called Jan Sansad with political people in Delhi, despite the refusal of farmer leaders.
