Five Teenagers Survive Serious Accident
ASTONIA - City fire units were dispatched to the intersection of Armstrong Park Road and Carriage House Lane on January 4 to a reported MVA with pin-in. Ladder Company 4 arrived to find a single vehicle accident, along with a downed power pole and live primary lines across the roadway. Captain Travis Bell reported a total of five patients, which had been pulled from the seriously damaged vehicle by bystanders.
Two of the five teens received very serious injuries and required immediate transport to Gaston Memorial Hospital. Rescue Company 3 and Battalion 1 responded to provide manpower for patient care and scene stabilization. The Gastonia Police Department is investigating the accident where alcohol may have played a major factor.
