Investment agreement between EU-China can increases India’s difficulty

India’s agreement to enter into trade and investment agreements with other countries. China is moving forward one by one on international investment agreements.

In this sequence, the new investment agreement between China and the European Union was finalized on Wednesday, which is going to have an impact on the business and diplomatic relations between the two.

Experts are also assuming that this will have an impact on the negotiations between India and the EU on the trade and investment agreement. India and the EU have held initial talks recently and it is expected to gain momentum after PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the European Union in May 2021

India had earlier decided to opt-out of the trade agreement Arcep (Regional Comprehensive Trade Agreement) with a membership of 15 countries, including China.
