The Khalistani Referendum, scheduled to take place on September 10 at Government Tamanwis Secondary School in Surrey, Canada, has been canceled due to controversy surrounding the event. The school campus had been booked by an Ontario resident under the guise of a community event. The organizers of the event were associated with Gurpant Pannu, and a picture of Parmar and an AK-47, who were convicted of bomb blasts, was displayed at the school.
However, the event faced strong opposition from various organizations, including the Indo Canadian Workers Association official Satinder Sangha. In response to the concerns raised, the Mayor decided to cancel the booking, resulting in the cancellation of the entire event
