The country’s stock markets closed higher for the third consecutive day on Thursday amid the settlement of monthly futures. The BSE Sensex gained 257.62 points (0.51%) to end at 51,039.31 on gains from Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, and TCS. The NSE Nifty gained 115.35 points (0.77%). It once again crossed 15,000 and closed at 15,097.35. According to traders, the positive sentiment in the international markets strengthened the market sentiment. The flow of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) has increased strongly. According to provisional data from the stock exchanges, FPI bought shares worth a net of Rs 28,739.17 crore on Wednesday. The Sensex has gained 1,294.99 points (2.60%) and the Nifty has gained 421.65 points (2.87%) in a three-day gain. On 22 February, the Sensex closed at 49744.32 and the Nifty at 14,675.70.
