Not necessarily a two-hour feature film on every story: Saket Chaudhary
The production of anthology films is very much in trend these days, in which many filmmakers combine different short films to produce a film. Saket Chaudhary, director of films like Hindi Medium and Pyaar Ke Side Effects, has directed a short film in the recently released anthology film Ankahi Kahaniyan on Netflix. It has three short films. In this, the short film Shaadi directed by Saket is based on infidelity. Saket says, 'Ashi Dua, the producer of this film, just told us that you should make a short film on a love story.
My co-author Zeenat Amani and me started thinking about what new we could show about love and relationships. Then it came to our mind that infidelity is the reality of modern marriages. Then we made this film on the tussle and deceit of relationships. In anthology films, finishing the story in a limited time is not a challenge, but a better opportunity, not necessarily a two-hour feature film on each story. Some things come into our life for a very short time and they change our lives. Anthology films are a better option for such stories.
