Overseas Indians hopes to revive ‘American Dream’ by Biden-Kamala

Joe Biden will be sworn in as US President and Kamala Harris as Vice President today. In such a situation, Indians living in America believe that the Biden-Harris administration will revive the ‘American Dream’ which includes the development of all. The policies implemented during Trump’s tenure have hindered America’s progress. The most fatal is the immigration policy, because it has affected hundreds of Indians, and has caused a lot of damage to America. Biden’s colleagues said his administration would support the family visa. First, the temporary visa system for high-skilled workers will be improved. Then the green card and visa rules will be reviewed.
Due to Trump’s policies, the rate of rejecting applications for this category increased to 4.3 percent in 2015 from 15.2 percent by 2019. L-1 visa applications were rejected by 28.1 percent in 2019. Trump brought a rule called a ‘public charge’ that would allow government medical or food aid and getting a green card or citizenship becomes difficult. Biden promises that they will end discrimination against it and poor migrants. Shweta Singh, an Indian-origin lawyer based in New Jersey, said that Trump’s lethal immigration policies left more than 1 million positions vacant in the country.
