Padma Vibhushan to Shinzo Abe, Balasubramaniam

On the eve of Republic Day, the government announced the Padma Awards today, announcing the award of Padma Vibhushan to 7 celebrities, including former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, and singer SP Balasubramaniam (posthumously). With this, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri awards have been announced. Among those honored with Padma Bhushan are Tarun Gogoi and Ram Vilas Paswan (posthumous) and Sumitra Mahajan. 102 celebrities will be honored with the Padma Shri award.

Sand Artist Sudarshan Sahu among those who get Padma Vibhushan, archaeologist Bibi Lal, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, Dr. Monappa Hegde,  Narinder Singh Kapany (Science and Engineering) are also included. Apart from these, 10, including former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nripendra Mishra, Tarlochan Singh, and Dharmaguru Kalbe Sadiq (posthumously) will be given Padma Bhushan.
