Punjab: Case against Patwari who took ₹3000 bribe
Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a corruption case against Patwari Gurdeep Singh posted at Chak Janisar, Mal Halka, Tehsil Jalalabad, Fazilka, on the charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000. The case has been registered following an investigation into a complaint filed by Muktsar Sahib city resident Dharmjit Singh Bedi on Chief Minister's Anti-Corruption Action Line. During the investigation of the complaint, it was proved that the accused had demanded Rs 5,000 from the applicant Shinder Kaur, resident of Muktsar Sahib, in exchange for giving her a copy of the Jamabandi. For this purpose, he had received Rs 3,000 as bribe. The complainant had recorded her conversation with the Patwari and lodged a complaint on the said Action Line.
