Punjab-Haryana High Court’s decision – e-registration of marriage will be valid

In view of the situation arising out of the Covid epidemic, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has recognized marriage registration through video conferencing. A division bench of the High Court has rejected the decision of the single-bench, which has refused to allow e-registration of the marriage, stating that a personal appearance in front of the marriage officer to sign the ‘marriage certificate book’ Can not be exempted from attending.
