Giant cargo container ship stranded in Egypt’s Suez Canal departed late Monday evening. With this, traffic in the canal became normal. In the first batch, 43 ships were sent towards the destination. The route was closed for the last one week due to the ship getting stuck, due to which more than 400 ships were assembled in the canal. The Panama flag was put on this ship named MV Ever Given. The ship trades between Asia and Europe. The ship is operated by a Taiwanese shipping company called Evergreen Marine Corps.
Suez Canal Authority Chairman Osama Rebai said that the ship did not suffer any damage during the evacuation. To remove the ship, not only did it have to extract thirty thousand cubic meters of mud below it, but also had to resort to 11 small and two big boats. The ship’s technical manager, Bernhard Schult Shipmanagement, said that there was no report of any leakage and pollution from the ship. It will take three days for the stranded ships to leave.
