Indian boxer Jyoti Gulia has made it to the quarter-finals of the Strandja Memorial Boxing tournament. In the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, 2017 World Youth Champion Jyoti (51 kg) defeated two-time World Champion Kazakhstan’s Nazim Kyzaibai 3-2. The 27-year-old won the Bronze medal in 2012, the 2014 and 2016 gold medals at the Kajabi World Champion. Now in the quarter-finals, Jyoti will face Romania’s Perizoc Lacramiora. Bhagyavati Kachari (75 kg) defeated Russia’s Ana Gelimova 5–0. In the men’s category, Naveen Bura (69 kg) defeated Armen Mashakerian of Armenia 3-2 and entered the last-8. They will now face Iravio Edson of Brazil.
