The Union Transport Ministry has now extended the validity period of various documents of vehicles up to March 31, 2021. This decision will provide a big relief to all those who could not renew their driving license, registration certificate (RC) and other necessary documents that were invalid during lock down this year.
The Ministry of Transport has extended the validity period of various documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, three times earlier this year. The ministry first extended the validity of these documents on March 30 during the lock down imposed by the central government to deal with the Corona infection. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued a statement on Sunday, saying that it has extended the validity period of all related documents, including DL, RC and permits, to 31 March 2021 for vehicles.
