CRPF camp attacked in Manipur, 11 militants killed
Imphal | 11 militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Manipur's Jiribam district on Monday. Officials said the encounter took place in Jakurodor Karong of Boroneka subdivision. During this, two CRPF jawans were also injured. One of them is in critical condition.
According to officials, at around 2:30 pm, uniformed militants armed with sophisticated weapons started firing on the CRPF camp. At the same time, some militants entered the Jakurador Karong market about 100 meters away from there. Here they attacked some houses and set fire to several shops. 11 militants were killed in the retaliatory action that lasted for about an hour. Apart from this, 5 people living in the relief camp located in the premises of the police station are missing. After the encounter, security forces have also recovered rocket-propelled grenade launchers and AK series assault rifles.
