Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially slashed prices across much of its two-wheeler range, now that recent changes to the Goods & Services Tax (GST) have lowered the tax rate for models up to 350cc. The knee-jerk effect: ex-showroom price reductions ranging from about ₹5,672 up to ₹18,887, depending on the model.

What Changed & Why

The GST Council revised tax on two-wheelers up to 350cc, bringing it down from 28% to 18%. In turn, Honda says it will pass these savings directly to customers. This move is clearly timed before the festive season, aiming to make bikes and scooters more affordable and push sales momentum in competitive markets.

Model-Wise Savings Snapshot

Here are some of the models getting noticeable price relief:

  • Activa 110: up to ~₹7,874 cheaper

  • Dio 110: up to ~₹7,157 down

  • Activa 125: discount of ~₹8,259

  • Dio 125: ~₹8,042 less

  • Shine 100 / Shine 100 DX: ~₹5,672 and ~₹6,256 savings respectively

  • CB125 Hornet: cut by ~₹9,229

  • Unicorn: up to ~₹9,948 off

  • Hornet 2.0 & NX200: benefits in the order of ~₹13,000–₹14,000

  • Among the highest savings are on Honda’s 350cc line: CB350 gets up to ~₹18,887 off, CB350 H’ness ~₹18,598, CB350RS ~₹18,857

What’s Impacted — and What’s Not

These price cuts affect models that fall under the 350cc category and were earlier taxed at the higher slab. For bikes above 350cc, the GST change is less favorable—they are subject to higher tax, which could mean price hikes or minimal relief, depending on the specific regulation. So for buyers eyeing premium BigWing or high-cc bikes (excluding some 350cc exceptions), the picture is mixed.

What It Means for Buyers

  • People in urban and rural areas both stand to benefit since cost sensitivity is high across the board.

  • This is a good time to consider buying, especially if you were waiting for better deals.

  • Be sure to check with your local dealership for the updated ex-showroom price, as savings may vary slightly by location or state.
