NC Air National Guard Firefighter Dies at Firehouse
ALBEMARLE – North Carolina Air National Guard Firefighter Alan “Truck” Hicks passed away Monday morning, July 27, 2015. He was found unconscious by his relief crew this morning at shift change. Stanly County EMS and NCANG Firefighters provided medical care to no avail.
Firefighter Hicks is survived by his wife and two children.

One of the firefighters who responded to a call Sunday has died.
Capt. Alan Hicks of Station 27 (the National Guard fire department stationed at the Stanly County Airport) died sometime after assisting with extinguishing a fire on Kemp Road Sunday night, according to another firefighter with Station 27.
Bethany Volunteer Fire Department received a call 7:20 p.m. Sunday regarding a house fire on Kemp Road.
Badin, East Side, New London and Station 27 fire departments also responded to the call.
The house, at 39025 Kemp Road, Albemarle, was destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
The cause of Hicks’ death is unknown.
